The films were screened at the Santa Monica Public Library's beautiful Martin Luther King Jr. Auditorium on Saturday, November 15, 2008, from 12 noon to 5:30 pm. A Q&A with filmmakers and talent began at around 4:55 pm. The event was covered in the Hollywood Investigator.Best Actress winner Georgia Chris with her Tabloid Witch (right). Other winners below. The Tabloid Witch Awards remains proud to run a No Entry Fee contest to struggling filmmakers, and to showcase their work free to the public.

The idea of marketing these terms as a commodity is a protected idea under the Lanham Act. 15 U.S.C. s 1114(1) (1994) (defining a trademark infringement claim when the plaintiff has a registered mark); 15 U.S.C. s 1125(a) (1994) (defining an action for unfair competition in the context of trademark infringement when the plaintiff holds an unregistered mark).
