The Viscera Series Film Festival is a horror film festival for women. The eligibility rules are simple: all behind-the-camera personnel -- production assistants, craft services, everyone -- must be women!
The Viscera Series was founded by San Francisco-based horror actress and filmmaker, Shannon Lark, to promote "women in horror" and to showcase the unique vision that female artists bring to horror.
The Tabloid Witch Awards is a proud co-sponsor of the Viscera Series. This means that we will screen, at our own film festival, at least one Viscera Series horror film.
We did so for the first time on November 24, 2007, when we screened the Viscera Series horror film, It's My Birthday, at Loscon 34, at the LAX Marriott Hotel in Los Angeles.
We've promoted the Viscera Series in other ways too. Such as in this Hollywood Investigator article! -- which contains more info about Ms. Lark's philosophy of women and horror.

Ms. Lark is also founder and director of the Chainsaw Mafia film collective.
When Ms. Lark asked the Tabloid Witch to co-sponsor the Viscera Series, we quickly agreed.
In fact, Ms. Lark (left) found many co-sponsors with amazing speed -- she can be most persuasive!
